Although OpenStack includes Neutron project to provide the basic networking services between interface devices managed by OpenStack, sometimes its capabilities are simply not sufficient to satisfy all the requirements imposed by NFVI infrastructure and cloud native applications. This is especially true in a large scale architectures like platforms that host the strategic 5G mobile cloud cores and where the requirements for Service chaining or granular BGP policies are a standard.

This is where SDN specific products like Tungsten Fabric (former Juniper Contrail) or Nuage Virtual Services Platform  become increasingly important. Each product provides a simple, open, and agile overlay SDN solution that automates and orchestrates the creation of highly scalable virtual networks.

If your company requires the experts to design, deploy or support a carrier-grade large scale SDN solution into your private cloud environment or you simply need a training for your employees  to get a deeper understanding of the capabilities that these products has to offer, this is where Kortes can be useful. Having former members from both Juniper and Nuage in the team,

we can help you harness the power of the cloud—for new services, increased business agility and revenue growth.

01

Centralised Control

Software-defined networking (SDN) separates the control plane from the data plane, allowing for centralized control of the network. This makes it easier to manage and configure the network, and allows for faster and more dynamic changes to the network.

03

Increased Automation

SDN enables the automation of many network functions, such as provisioning and configuration, which can help to reduce human error and increase efficiency.

02

Improved network visibility

SDN provides improved visibility into the network, making it easier to monitor and troubleshoot issues. This can help to improve the overall performance and reliability of the network.

04

Flexibility

SDN allows for the creation of virtual networks on top of the physical network, which can be easily reconfigured and optimized to meet changing needs. This flexibility makes it easier to accommodate new applications and services, and can help to reduce the costs associated with expanding or reconfiguring the network.
